5. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
The site may use cookies, pixels, tags, scripts and similar technologies.
Necessary technologies
Certain technologies are necessary for the site's operation or security. They may in particular be used to provide functions requested by the user, protect forms, prevent bots, and maintain the integrity and security of the service.
Analytics and advertising technologies
Depending on the site's technical configuration and the services in use at the time of your visit, Château Venise may use, in particular, services from Google, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads, as well as technologies from Meta/Facebook and Cloudflare.
Certain technologies may make it possible to identify a device or user, analyze their behaviour or interests, measure conversions, or build an advertising profile.
Where the law requires these functions to be enabled by the user, they must not be enabled by default. The visitor must have a clear means of making their choice and, where available on the site, of changing their preferences afterward.
Refusing optional technologies must not prevent the use of the site's essential functions.
Withdrawing consent applies to future processing and does not invalidate processing lawfully carried out before that withdrawal.
6. Forms and availability calendar
Our contact form may in particular ask for your name, phone number, email, company, event type, desired dates, number of participants, number of people staying overnight, number of children, and the content of your message.
The site may also display or embed an availability calendar. Where a third-party service is used to provide this function, certain technical data may be processed by that provider in accordance with its own terms and the measures put in place by Château Venise.
7. Newsletter and commercial communications
You may choose to subscribe to our newsletter to receive, in particular, our availability, seasonal offers and news.
Where Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) applies, Château Venise complies with the applicable requirements regarding consent, sender identification, and the unsubscribe mechanism.
You may withdraw your consent to commercial communications using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in our messages or by contacting us. Unsubscribe requests are processed within the timeframes set out by law.
Withdrawing consent to commercial communications does not prevent us from sending communications necessary for an ongoing request, booking, contract, transaction or stay.
We may keep a record of consent or unsubscribe requests to the extent necessary to demonstrate our compliance.
8. Service providers and disclosure to third parties
We do not sell the personal information of our clients or visitors.
We may disclose certain information to service providers or agents where necessary to operate the business, to provide the requested service, or where the law permits it.
Depending on the services actually used, these providers may include in particular:
- Cloudflare: infrastructure, security, bot protection and technical functions;
- Resend: sending transactional emails and, where applicable, electronic communications;

Access to information must be limited to the people and providers who need it in the course of their duties or mandate.
9. Processing and disclosure outside Quebec
Certain technology providers may process, store or make personal information accessible outside Quebec, including in Canada or the United States.
Before disclosing personal information outside Quebec, or where an organization located outside Quebec is retained to collect, use, disclose or retain such information on our behalf, Château Venise applies the requirements of Quebec legislation that are relevant to the situation, including a privacy impact assessment where required and appropriate contractual safeguards.
This assessment takes into account, in particular, the sensitivity of the information, its purpose, the applicable protective measures, and the legal framework of the territory concerned.
Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws applicable in that jurisdiction.

Records related to bookings, contracts, invoices and transactions may be kept for as long as necessary to comply with contractual, accounting, tax and legal obligations.
Information related to commercial communications is kept according to its purpose and applicable requirements, including to manage consents and unsubscribe requests.
Once the purposes have been fulfilled and no legal obligation justifies further retention, information is securely destroyed or, where the law permits and applicable conditions are met, anonymized in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

13. Security
We apply reasonable security measures having regard, in particular, to the sensitivity, purpose, quantity, distribution and medium of the personal information.
These measures may include access controls, protection of accounts and systems, encryption of communications where relevant, infrastructure security measures, and limiting access to people who need the information in the course of their duties.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage offers absolute security.
14. Confidentiality incidents
In the event of a confidentiality incident, Château Venise takes reasonable steps to reduce the risk of harm and to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
Where the incident presents a risk that serious harm will result, Château Venise notifies Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information and the affected individuals in accordance with the applicable requirements.
Château Venise maintains a register of confidentiality incidents in accordance with applicable legislation.
15. Minors
Our booking services and forms intended to organize a stay or event are primarily directed at adults.
We do not knowingly seek to obtain, directly from a child under 14 years of age, consent to the collection of personal information where the consent of the holder of parental authority is required.
In the context of a family booking or event, certain information about children may be provided by an adult where necessary to organize the stay or event.
16. Links, integrations and external services
The site may contain links or integrations to services operated by third parties, including Google services, social media platforms, maps, calendars, videos or other external services.
Where you interact directly with a third-party service, that provider's own practices and policies may also apply.
17. Governance of personal information

These practices cover, in particular:
- the retention and destruction of personal information;
- the roles and responsibilities of people with access to information;
